With over 28 years of extensive global industry experience Robyn brings to the HVAC industry vast practical, multifaceted knowledge spanning design, commissioning and servicing.
Being a registered electrician for over 30 years, Robyn has been able to command respect from her peers working on significant projects which have had her challenge industry paradigms.
She sees a need to upskill tradespeople within the industry. Having been a trainer for the Refrigeration Licensing Trust Board – Heating Ventilation & Air-Conditioning (HVAC) Control Theories she wishes to invest in leading training programs that make a significant difference in the industry she cares about.
Robyn learnt about HVAC controls in London while doing electrical maintenance on high rise buildings 20+ floors in the 1990’s and written maintenance schedules for said buildings. Robyn worked for Landis & Gyr on the Waterloo International Rail Station, (part of the Channel Tunnel Project) ensuring the electrical elements were completed and ready for the commissioning team. She then ran the pre-commissioning team, notifying the builders of any incompliances of specification, or things that needed to be remedied.
She returned to New Zealand to work for Landis & Staefa, and then Siemens Building Technologies to set up and then manage the service department putting together upgrade paths and service contracts for existing controls systems.
From New Zealand, she then went to China to work for Belimo, and set up the Product Support Department for the Asia Pacific Region.
Robyn has most recently been with Eurotec for 12 years, using the Innotech product range, designing, writing software & commissioning and working closely with customers on design and build packages.
To speak into your specific requirements – lets talk.
I have found Robyns knowledge of HVAC controls systems to be of great benefit to my business. Pointing out areas in the controls specifications that were open to interpretation we were able to tighten up these clauses so the contractors were clear on what to price, so there were no extra costs/works required and better still the customer got what they wanted. Robyn was able to present the merits of various BMS options to a broad group that included non-technical people in a way that allowed everyone to follow. This allowed the decision makers to make an informed decision and move the project forward.
I have found Robyns’ design, specification and implementation to be of a high standard, she listens, is reliable and trustworthy so we get the Control Solutions that work for our customers to suit the application. I have no hesitation recommending her services.
I employed Robyn in 2004 to head our HVAC Business Unit. Her background, initially as an electrician then many years in the building services industry as a control system, building management engineer and contract manager made her ideal for the job. The expertise required in this profession is very hard to find and she would be one of the few to have such complete knowledge over the whole spectrum of what makes a building environmental control system tick.
